Representatives from S&T Institutions and Universities from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Perú and Chile participated in the Second Sub-regional Conference of Andean Countries, which was held in the framework of the EULARINET project. The conference gathered more than 30 stakeholders with the aim to generate space for dialogue in S&T among the Andean countries and elaborate recommendations for the VI EU-LAC Summit in May 2010 in Madrid.
The Conference was organized by CONICYT - Department of International Relations, together with COLCIENCIAS, Colombia. Its main objective was to provide an Andean view of S&T cooperation in the EU-LAC partnership towards the Summit to be held in May in Madrid.
After two days on intense dialogue, the participants agreed to continue developing joint actions to find common positions towards the summit; strenghten the cooperation between the different actors and create a catalogue of best practices in the field of S&T cooperation in the region.
The next Sub-regional Conference will be held in November in Bolivia.
