Within the scope of the CHIEP-2 project, the Liaison Office- European Union Program of the Department of International Relations of CONICYT held a dissemination event for SMEs on March 30th. The event, took place in EuroChile who host and co-organized, and was attended by 24 people from the National SME community. The objectives of the day were firstly, to present the Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), its priority areas and participation opportunities for Chilean SMEs, the role of the Liaison Office and the system of National Contact Points, and to Identify opportunities for collaboration between SMEs.
Manuela Caruz proceeded to explain the role of EuroChile national contact point for SMEs in FP7. Beatriz Bustos presented CONICYT's role as a liaison office and the main opportunities for the participation of SMEs in FP7. After both presentations, a round of questions from the audience was answered. Questions were mostly related to details on the requirements and procedures for participating or availability of funds to develop preliminary stages of proposals writing.
Then, Ignacio Caceres, from the Attraction Program of Advanced Human Capital explained the subsidy program for the integration of research in SMEs. The round of questions referred to requirements, previous experiences and status of the calls. Finally, a new round of questions was conducted where attendees called for more days like this and for training workshops in preparation for participation in FP7.
