Academy of Finland, Vilhonvuorenkatu 6, Helsinki, Finland
17–18 June 2009
The Academy of Finland is organizing a workshop entitled “Opening Knots – Looking for the Solutions” on 17–18 June 2009. The workshop’s objectives are to enhance industry–academia cooperation between Europe and Latin America, facilitate the forming of partnerships and introduce well-functioning examples of cooperation networks and programmes. A further goal is to define the problems and barriers in public-private partnerships between Latin American and EU actors, and the needs and aims of such cooperation. In addition, best practices will be introduced and making use of them in future cooperation will be elaborated.
The workshop is part of the objectives of the EULARINET Inco-Net that the Academy of Finland is participating in. The EULARINET is a four-year Coordination Action of Latin American Research and Innovation Networks, and its main goal is to strengthen bi-regional dialogue on science and technology between EU Member States, Associated States and Latin American Partner Countries at policy, programme and institutional level. More information on the EULARINET can be found on the website http://www.s2lat.eu/eularinet.
The workshop will gather representatives from enterprises and industries, universities and research organisations, R&D&I funds, agencies and confederations. It will bring together Latin American and European stakeholders to find the solutions to facilitating cooperation between private and public innovation actors between the two regions.
You are warmly welcome to participate in the workshop. We look forward to having plenty of fruitful discussions, and your contribution would be highly appreciated. The workshop offers good networking opportunities and all participants are given an opportunity to give presentations at the matching event of the last day of the workshop.
