The National Commission of Scientific and Technological Research of the Chilean Government (CONICYT) is the organisation in charge of implementing and executing the Science and Technology Agreement.
The creation of the European Union Programme of CONICYT’s Department of International Relations (DRI) in 2004, made it possible to have, for the first time since cooperation in this field between Chile and the EU was started (1992), a follow-up and a register of information about the projects; knowledge on participating Chilean actors; and an accrued "know-how". All these features are necessary in order to provide public and private Chilean actors with advice on participation modalities and how to elaborate joint proposals together with European institutions, thus strengthening association and internationalization of Chilean scientific community.
